Information about Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)

What is an EAP?
In recognition that we all face challenges in our lives, an EAP is a confidential and free service provided by organizations to employees and their immediate family members. Events and issues that may prompt a request for an EAP service include (but are not limited to):
  • Difficulties with co-workers
  • Anger management
  • Work performance problems
  • Changes in the workplace
  • Career decisions
  • Stress and coping
  • Burnout
  • Job dissatisfaction
  • Anxiety
  • Mood problems
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Grief and loss
  • Life transition issues
  • Emotional and physical abuse
  • Alcohol or other drug misuse
  • Problem gambling
  • Parenting difficulties
  • Family conflict
Who can access EAP?
Wisemind Psychology is contracted to provide services through Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) with the
NT Government and NT Police, Fire, and Emergency Services. If you are an employee or the immediate family member of NTG or NTPFES, you are welcome to access psychological services by self-referral. Please contact our office by phone on (08) 8981 5605 or email admin@wisemind.com.au, identify yourself as an employee or the immediate family member of an employee of NTG or NTPFES, and our admin team will assist you in scheduling your initial appointment.

Wisemind is also subcontracted with the EAP organisations Assure Programs, Drake Workwise, and SMG Health. Please speak with your Human Resources team to find out if your employer is contracted with either of these organisations. You can then contact the organisation directly and they will send us a referral. Our admin team will then contact you to arrange your initial appointment.

If you would like any further information about the EAP, including the number of sessions available and confidentiality requirements, please feel free to contact our office and one of our psychologists can help you with any questions.
